Short-term sketch as a means of forming basic skills in painting from life among future fine art teachers

This article examines the role and place of a short-term sketch as an effective means of forming basic skills in painting from life among future fine art teachers; it defines the main tasks of its use in artist teacher training. The authors affirm that a short-term sketch allows a student to achieve a holistic vision of nature, contributes to the skills development in order to create the proportional color relations and find the composition of painting, and develops skills of independent creative activity among students.
