Criteria and indicators of the formation of the geometric-graphic culture of technical university students

The article defines the author's definition of geometric-graphic culture of technical university students, theoretically substantiates the choice of its criteria and indicators of formation. To diagnose the level of such culture we chose such criteria as motivation (interest in engineering activity, attitude to the values of engineering community, professional self-identification, the ability to set goals and achieve their implementation, ability to create, self-confidence); cognitive activity (solution of standard and non-standard tasks, educational and cognitive, search activities; participation in projects, competitions, conferences); reflection and assessment (understanding the significance of geometric and graphic culture for professional activities, the ability to see one's own and other people's advantages and disadvantages, perception of criticism, self-esteem). The results of the conducting experiment to identify the initial level of formation of the geometric-graphic culture of first-year students of mechanical engineering specialties are presented.
