The paper is devoted to the problem of studying the cultural and value orientation in Lebanese and Russian ethnic groups. In the presence of a considerable number of publications devoted to cross-cultural researches, both in our country and abroad, there is nevertheless a significant shortcoming in the study of cultural and value differences between the representatives of Russian and Lebanese ethnic groups. The study involved 52 people: 26 representatives of a Lebanese ethnic group and 26 representatives of a Russian ethnic group aged from 21 to 40 years. By representatives of the Russian ethnic group we mean individuals of different nationalities living in Russia. But the sample was made up of Russians. The Lebanese ethnic group was composed of the representatives of different nationalities living in Lebanon (40 % of Christians and 60 % of Muslims). The analysis of the results of the empirical study showed that between the Lebanese and Russian ethnic groups there observed both general patterns and specific, characteristic of each group. The common thing that unites the two ethnic groups is a commitment to the cultural values of their people; the cultures carry a centuries-old formation of society. The differences are present due to the culture and social environment in which a representative of the ethnic group lives from birth. Lebanese are a society with traditional cultural values. The cultural and value orientations of Russians represent an orientation toward the future - the dynamically developing culture, social values.
