The authors assume that in any period of development of society and mankind was on the way homogenization methods and forms of communication, and therefore, the homogenization of language area. This orientation of social development develops its own types of monolinguism, correlated with the types of social structure and cultural reproduction: local monolingualism, national monolingualism, global monolingualism. At the present stage of development of society in the emerging global communicative space, which is characterized by the transformation of communication means an end in itself, social and cultural reproduction is subject key trends of the global monolingualism, including pragmatic language, unification and standardization of the language means, characterized updating visual-sensory signs for the reproduction and transmission of information, destruction of the linguistic foundations of the national cultural space and its subcultural that becomes the prerequisites for the formation of new social and cultural reality.
