The article deals with the structure and peculiarities of the lexical and semantic field ‘White’ based on the novel “Sag Harbor” by C. Whitehead. The core of the field has a black/white structure, there are revealed a near-nuclear zone, a close and far periphery. The field method allows to study the semantic peculiarities of the lexical environment of the novel, there is concluded about the world picture of the author.
