Libertarianism as postmodern soсial project

The article discusses the author's exploration of the topic of monitoring the current socio cultural phenomenon. The text transitions from an analysis of libertarianism presented in an artistic context (Ayn Rand's novel “Atlas Shrugged”) to an examination of libertarianism as a contemporary postmodern concept linked to the philosophy of neoliberalism and subjective sociology. The article notes that the ideology of libertarianism is based on the principles of individualism and social egoism associated with the absolutization of the unimportant and random, which, in turn, leads to hedonism and nihilism. Pink flags of libertarian thinking include the lack of a connection between social action and personal identity; the strictness of subject positioning in social practice; and the indeterminacy of human activity within society. In this regard, the article notes a fusion of libertarian ideas with anarchist and reactionary existentialist thought. All this is summarized by the position of socio consumer pragmatism. The study leads to the conclusion that the principles of libertarianism in the Anglo Saxon world, regarding the understanding of freedom through a narcissistic approach, leads to the fascification of events, worldviews, and social actions. At the same time, the analysis reveals the diametrically opposite socio practical approach of the Russian worldview compared to the social practices of libertarianism.
