The problem of professional training of students with disabilities as competitive specialists is considered. The article presents the results of an empirical study conducted in 12 Russian universities and focused on identifying the features of personal and professional readiness of university graduates with limited health opportunities as competitive specialists. Based on the data of this study and theoretical sources, a comparative analysis of the level and type of professional readiness of graduates with and without disabilities is carried out. The authors come to conclusion that the majority of senior students with disabilities in modern universities have an insufficiently high degree of theoretical and practical readiness and a low level of expression of professionally important qualities of their personality. The article reveals the shortcomings of the system of professional training of students with disabilities as competitive specialists.
