The expediency of optimizing human behavior in terms of reducing mistakes being a consequence of attitudinal regulation as part of A.G. Asmolov’s concept is substantiated, which is recognized as an urgent scientific and practical task facing modern practical psychology. The hypothesis of this study is formulated as an assumption that there are a number of personality traits in people whose mistakes are caused by various psychological attitudes. The aim of the study is to assess the individual characteristics of women and men who often make mistakes of attitudinal genesis. The study involved 329 respondents, including 201 men and 128 women, whose age ranged from 18 to 52 years. Among those used were the “Questionnaire of Propensity to Commit Mistakes” and the “Big Five” test questionnaire by P. Costa and R. McCray (NEO PI-R). It is deemed that respondents who are prone and not prone to making mistakes differ from each other in terms of personal characteristics, there are also differences in indicators due to gender. The revealed specificity of the severity of the values of the measured personal characteristics of women and men, who are prone to errors of an attitudinal nature, made it possible to offer typical portraits of such people, which can be used in the activities of a practical psychologist.
