Personal aspect of continuity principle in professional education

The problems of lifelong learning are of current interest all over the world and in our country due to modernization of the educational system and its integration into international educational system. Continuous education being a lifelong process plays an important part in the development of the state, society and every person. The analysis of the interrelations of the stages of person’s development in continuous professional education (professional literacy, competence, culture) is important. The aim of this study is to analyze the meaning of the continuity principle in professional education in terms of a person’s progress in continuous professional education. To determine the essence of the continuity principle the author uses the methods of analysis and synthesis of philosophical and pedagogical regulations. The role of lifelong education in social and personal aspects was revealed. The author's interpretation of the person’s progress in continuous professional education was presented. The results of the study can be used in the practice of development and realization of professional programmes for different levels of education.
