Linguistic foundations for teaching introductory constructions of the Russian language

The problem of teaching introductory constructions of the Russian language is one of the topical issues in Russian linguistics. This is due to the fact that to date there is no consensus among linguistic scholars on the definition of the introductory construction, its origin, morphological expression, syntactic connection and grammatical position in a sentence based on the disclosure of its semantic functions. At the same time, introductory constructions are included in the active vocabulary layer. It is emphasized that that they can be expressed in different morphological and syntactic units, but they can be identified by common characteristics, foremost of which is the speaker's attitude towards what is being communicated. The skilful and competent use of these units of language makes speech clearer, more precise, more expressive and more logical, while inappropriate use makes it cluttered. Consequently, teaching should take into account not only the structure and ways of expressing introductory constructions, but also their functional features.
