Linguistic ways of expressing request in English and features of translation into Russian

The main purpose of the research is to identify linguistic ways of expressing a request in modern English and methods of translating it into Russian. This article describes features of translation of speech act “request” from English into Russian. The focus of the article is on techniques and transformations used in translation. The results show that equivalence, transposition, change of a part of speech, change of part of sentence, change of form of a word, sentence integration, modulation, addition and omission are used.
