Linguistic, didactic and psychological basis of reading efficiency as a dominant type of language activity on initial stage in the second foreign language teaching

The present study identifies psychological, linguistic and didactic problems of education determined by introduction of the second foreign language as a new subject in some nonlinguistic departments of arts and humanities universities; the author provides the analysis of possibility of the increase of the productivity of the process of the second foreign language teaching making rapid transition from the reading of information to informative reading on initial stage of education; the basis of this transition may be the system of reserve opportunities of students accumulated during native and first foreign language learning; is substantiated the idea of making reading a dominant type of language activity; the author substantiates the necessity to use the comparative method as a principal method of the strategy of education in the second foreign language teaching.
