Linguistic and cultural characteristics of appeal and nicknames in the novel “Anna Karenina” by L.N. Tolstoy

The article deals with the specific features of functioning the different forms of appeal in the Russian speech etiquette and the nicknames at the example of the novel “Anna Karenina” by L.N. Tolstoy. There is presented the linguistic and cultural commentary to them. The author reveals the specific character of the choice of the appealing forms in the communication process and the foundation of the author’s motivation of the nicknames. There is defined the text forming role of appeals and nicknames in the novel.
