The article is devoted to the problem of developing creative potential of pupils in Russian language and literature lessons and in extracurricular activities. We consider the project method a most relevant and multifunctional for the development of critical thinking and motivation for creativity. As an example of motivation for creative activity we present our original development “The Map of Students' Interests”. As a result of its implementation we have noted the successful subject, metasubject and personal results among students. Techniques aimed at motivating creative activity allow revealing the individual abilities of the child. We have used the experience of classroom and extracurricular work, aimed at developing the individual creative abilities of pupils, for creation of the authorial program of spiritual, moral and patriotic education “There are no Prosy People in the World”.
