M. Dostoevsky in particular. Russian Russian genius pays special attention to those works that are F. M. Dostoevsky's artistic response to the demands of the epoch presented to the Russian national being. In this article, we consider London and Paris through the eyes of F. M. Dostoevsky, through the prism of the writer's perception. For the writer, London is the embodiment of spirituality, infernality, individualism of personality, the personification of the bourgeois order. There is no value of Christian humanism in English society. Paris is a contrasting city, producing a sense of uniformity, restraint, regularity, and at the same time lightness. The trip to Europe further formed a sense of the difference between the bourgeois West and the original Russia.
