Freemasonry as «antieducation» in Catherine II comedies

In the article the problem of Catherine the 2nd's depiucting in the comedies « the Deceiver» «The Seduced», «the Siberian's Shaman» freemasonry in «the standard» look of negative roles of classicism comedy: ignoramuses, fools and easy riders, masking their ignorance, foolishness and profit by ridiculous rituals and verbal nonsense is examined. Reason of such relation of the Empress towards freemasons is covered in her state ideology to bring up the Russian nobility rationally, basing on scientific achievements and especially on «open» behavior.
