A mathematical model of multimode reflection and refraction of waves

In the paper the Fresnel’s problem with the account of the excitation of counter waves in dissipative media has been solved. A multimode mechanism of the reflection and refraction has been identified. It is shown that in the bordering media the backward waves and waves with a negative angle of refraction are excited along with reflection and refraction modes.
