Mediation as the rational way to resolve value conflicts

This articles stresses the challenges of the conflict resolution process, when conflicts involve the clash in values. It demonstrates that mediation is an effective means for the resolution of such conflicts. This article demonstrates that conflict resolution is possible only with the presence of the neutral side's (a.k.a. mediator) participation. The preference of the «win-win» negotiation strategy is shown. Here, we discuss the steps taken by the mediator to achieve the desirable results in value conflict resolution. To illustrate the validity of the approach the real case studies using this strategy is shown.
