Globalization and migration processes are relevant to Russian society, which in turn is reflected in the media discourse of the Russian media. The article examines the category MIGRANT represemted in the National Corpus of the Russian Language (NCRL), a subcorp of the central media from 1997 to 2021, and provides statistical data. Moreover, the author analyzes media texts up to and including 2023. The researcher has identified concepts that form the cultural and value matrix of linguistic consciousness associated with the category MIGRANT. Two dominant concepts are identified: "labor" and "national security". In addition, the media discourse actualizes the concepts of "family", "religion", "justice" and "respect" as cultural and value orientations characterizing the category MIGRANT. To obtain verified data, the research uses the method of content analysis and corpus analysis. The dynamics of the representation of the category MIGRANT in the Russian media discourse from 1997 to 2023 allows us to conclude about the key composition of the matrix of cultural values. The two main concepts of LABOUR and NATIONAL SECURITY unambiguously dominate. In addition, the concepts FAMILY, RELIGION, JUSTICE and RESPECT are actualized in this discourse.
