Media education in Spain: history and contemporaneity

The article examines the history of media education of Spain, the stages of its formation in XX-XXI centuries.The main directions of its development, the methodology, theoretical framework and concepts used in practical media education in Spain are viewed. The contemporary Spanish media education model "Educomunicación" - education and communication, which became a model for a number of Latin American countries, is also examined. In addition, the article presents the legislative basis providing for the introduction of media education disciplines and technologies in learning in schools and universities of Spain.
