The article is devoted to the description of professional risks of university teachers in the context of modern transformation processes in the Russian education system. The purpose of the study is to develop a mechanism for managing professional risks of university teachers in the context of reforming the higher education system. Research methods: comparative, system-structural, functional and conceptual analysis, modeling, typology. An integrated mechanism for managing professional risks is presented, built on the principles of systematicity, proactivity and individualization. The mechanism includes fi ve interrelated blocks: diagnostic, analytical, design, executive and control and correction. The author’s algorithm for developing the risk competence of a teacher is proposed, providing for the formation of specifi c competencies through mastering the methods of refl exive analysis, stress management and adaptive response to changes in the educational environment. The need to create specialized risk management services (educational risk coaching centers) in universities is substantiated, ensuring the coordination of eff orts of various departments of the educational institution in solving the problems of the teaching staff .
