Metallosis caused by sliding titanium structures, in patients with scoliosis

Introduction. We didn't find works which rather fully would cover processes of accumulation, absorptions and influences on an organism of the products which are formed at destruction of metal in couples of friction of the sliding endokorrektor. The purpose of our research is - the analysis of qualitative and quantitative structure of ions of metal in the blood and tissues of the patient which are allocated at friction of elements of the endokorrektor which is used for correction of scoliosis at children. Material and methods. The assessment of manifestations of development of a metalloz in 65 patients operated concerning skoliotichesky deformation of a backbone with installation of an endokorrektor of LSZ-5, and determination of concentration of ions of metals at them in blood and fabrics, adjacent to a design, is executed. Results. Research showed that the complications connected with metallozy developed in 23,1% cases at patients to whom implantation of an endokorrektor of LSZ-5 was made. At 7 patients fistulas developed, at 8 developed Seram, in most cases in lumbar department of a backbone. The maintenance of ions of the titan and vanadium in whole blood of patients with the implanted designs of LSZ-5 was raised. The median of the maintenance of ions of the titan in the soft fabrics surrounding a design was 1,5 times higher. Concentration of ions of metals in blood and tissues of patients with the complications connected with metallozy and without complications, statistically significantly didn't differ. Conclusion. The obtained data testify to need of improvement wearproof a covering for the titanic metalwork used for correction of scoliosis.
