Project method as a means of implementation of interdisciplinary integration principle in the course of foreign language for specific purposes

The article is devoted to the issue of using the project method in the context of the implementation of the interdisciplinary integration principle in the course of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in the educational institution of the MIA of Russia. The authors consider interdisciplinary integration as one of the methodological grounds of modern foreign language education. The authors suggest the interdisciplinary project presented by the students within the framework of their project activity at the end of the basic foreign language course as a means of the implementation of the principle under consideration. The thematic field of mini-projects and the methodology of the interdisciplinary project arrangement (stages of project development and their content) are presented. It is highlighted that the implementation of the principle of interdisciplinary integration by means of the project method contributes to the more profound content of ESP, forming not only the foreign language communicative competency in the field of chosen specialty, but also to the formation of professional competencies.
