Projects method in foreign language classes at a non-linguistic higher educational institution

The article examines the possibilities of independent knowledge mastering in the process of studying practical tasks of problems. One of the examined methods of foreign language study is the projects method. This method is widely used in present-day educational structures. Foreign language teaching has become practically oriented. This influences, first and foremost, the development of a complete and harmonious personality, which is able to take part rationally in intercultural communication. The author focuses attention on the fact that at the present stage the system of education must be targeted at the creation of such a system which helps the student not only to gain more knowledge, but also to learn to think using this knowledge and to develop their productive thinking ability. If problem orientation is viewed as the principle of education, this means that in the organization of education the content of educational material is a problem task. It must be noted that problem orientation both organizes the content of mastered knowledge and dictates the special methods of mastering it.
