The work is devoted to methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language in relation to studying foreigners' ways to learn non-equivalent vocabulary. The study is focused on the specific character of non-equivalent vocabulary in regard to notion and language phenomenon, ways to study non-equivalent vocabulary as a cultural component at lessons of Russian as a foreign language. The aim of the study is to consider and implement teaching approaches and methods in working with cultural component of non-equivalent vocabulary at lessons of Russian as a foreign language. The study involves cultural, comparative and systemic methodological approaches. Non-equivalent vocabulary has no semantic correspondence in other languages; it is historically formed specific words with distinct cultural component reflecting realia of a country. Thus, with respect to studying this culture-bound type of vocabulary at lessons of Russian as a foreign language, it is necessary to search for methods of presentation, consolidation and activation of culture-bound terms and cultural reading of texts in class.
