Methodological foundations of teaching critical reading in a foreign language to students of engineering training programs

The system of specific methodological principles as the basis of teaching methods of critical reading of the English language scientific texts of engineering students is considered. On the basis of the hierarchic model (common didactic - general methodological - specific methodological principles) the four interrelated principles, providing the overcoming of linguistic, cognitive and sociocultural difficulties, are revealed and described. The system of principles is considered as the conceptual framework for designing the educational process, transforming the theoretical propositions into concrete pedagogical mechanisms.
