The methodological potential of the development concept of future teachers’ social and communicative competence

The significance of the paper is explained by the demand for new approaches to the study of the content of social and communicative competence as a structural component of teacher’s professional competence. The requirement to solve this problem determines the accentuation of issues related to the development of social and communicative competence of future teachers, both in theoretical and applied aspects. Analysis, synthesis, classification and comparison were used to reveal the essence of system, activity and competence approaches that comprise the methodological basis for the development concept of social and communicative competence of future teachers. The result of this research is the complementary and complex development of system, activity and competence approaches to provide reasoning for the development concept of social and communicative competence of future teachers. The scientific novelty is that a system approach is proved to be the basis of general scientific research. It ensures the integrity of the study of social and communicative competence and identifies its essential characteristics, its nature and its internal structure. The activity approach as a theoretical and methodological strategy allows to examine the contents of social and communicative activities, to optimize the methods for its implementation, to identify ways of practical advance. The competence approach as a practice-research strategy, enables to examine the structure of professional competence of the future teacher and to disclose the composition of its components. These components widen and specify the contents of the competence by means of certain competencies combination and significant personal qualities. The practical significance of the research lies in the theoretical and methodological basis that provides further practical development of problems of future teachers’ social and communicative competence formation at university educational process.
