Metonymy as a means of semantic derivation (by the example of the formation of the polysemantic clean and cleansing)

In the article the problems of derivational polysemy. The authors noted that based on the appearance of portable values in the word are metaphorical and metonymical relations. For example, the emergence of portable value in the word clean, which is fully mastered its syntax derivative cleansing, explores the logic of metonymical transfer. It is noted that in the development process of the new values are not lost major importance, since metonymy is focused on the memorization of objects of extralinguistic reality for the adjacency. In the result of a metonymic transfer from derivative appears "semantic additive". It is emphasized that metonymic algorithm is used for the development of secondary meanings, in which connection it belongs to the semantic derivation. The work also stresses that the origins of the emergence of new values in the word are extra-linguistic reasons.
