Metonymy in derivational aspect

This study focuses on metonymy. In connection with a change of the scientific paradigm, namely, with the development at the turn of the 20th -21st centuries, anthropocentrically-based dynamic linguistics, one of the purposes of which is considered to be language from the point of view of its participation in the cognitive activity of a person, those linguistic phenomena that are most directly related to human cognitive activity are in the focus of research interests. The current paper deals with the issue of metonymic derivation, which is seen as formation of text production. The author develops the model of metonymic derivation.
