This article explores the cross-linguistic comparison of idioms in Russian, Chinese, and English, focusing on their linguacultural aspects. Idioms, as vivid reflections of national culture and mentality, convey the unique worldviews of native speakers. The study examines both universal and culturally specific idiomatic expressions, analyzing their structure, origin, and semantics. Special attention is given to culturally determined differences that pose challenges in translation and intercultural communication. Examples illustrate how historical, religious, and social contexts have shaped idiomatic expressions in the three languages. The article emphasizes the importance of studying idioms not only from a linguistic standpoint but also within a cultural framework, enhancing the understanding of diverse cultural mindsets. The findings are valuable for language teaching, cross-cultural communication, and translation studies.
