Mythologeme of descent into hell in the poem "Paris" by H. Mirrlees

This paper deals with the analysis of the mythologeme of descent into Hell in the text of the poem "Paris" by H. Mirrlees. It is expressed in various ways in the text of this work, namely: physical descent of the heroine in the metro, allusions to the texts of ancient authors, a description of the physical and emotional state of the heroine and the surrounding reality. Literary analysis of the poem allows us to conclude that the appeal to myth, the use of mythology, can be attributed to the artistic principles of modernists.
