Mythological images of birds and ornithomorphic symbolism in traditional cultures of the peoples of the North

The article explains that semiotics, formed during the mythological period and established in sacramental folklore and artworks of the Northern peoples, should be regarded as a way to accumulate and share collective memory with the aim of designing due reality, ciphered as symbols - conceptual images, which play the role of a language of cultural texts - the bearers of historical memory, whose loss can lead to the destruction of culture.
