On the issue of the development of migration linguistics

Migration processes in the modern world are an integral part of objective reality. One way or another they affect almost all spheres of life and, of course, are reflected in the language. Therefore, migration linguistics is actively developing at the moment and in the sphere of interests of it there are issues of language changes that are influenced by the intersection of languages and cultures. Researches in migration linguistics are of great interest because they reflect dynamic processes in the language, allowing us to trace the interaction of a complex of extra-linguistic and linguistic factors on the development of the language. One of such works that deserves attention is the scientific monograph by V. A. Sobyanina, I. V. Khokhlova "Language Representation of Migration in the German Media". The present article gives a brief overview of the structure of the monograph, the statement of the problem that its authors put forward, the methods for solving it. The contents of the sections of the monograph are considered, and key points and results of the work are emphasized. In conclusion, a general assessment of the significance of the peer-reviewed study in Russian migration linguistics is given; it is determined by an integrated approach to research. It was an integrated approach that allowed a thorough analysis of the lexical features of migration discourse in the German media. This proves the idea that the linguistic composition of the language does not matter.
