The mysterious meanings of history with its irrational component, they manifest themselves in the most diverse processes taking place in the modern world: from the specifics of the feat and temptations of an individual to the development of globalization and the reaction of various “subjects” of the modern world to it. As never before, today history poses a lot of questions for a person. Understanding the fundamental relationship between Church and world processes, designated and justified by such ancient authors as the St. Irenaeus of Lyons, St. Hippolytus of Rome and St. Augustine of Ippon, today can be supplemented by an analysis of the specifics of the historical processes of the 2000-year period of the Christian and “post-Christian” world. Of particular importance to us is the “Epoch of the Lost Ecumene”, representing the last millennium of history. This article is devoted to the most general outlines of the systematization of such problems
