“Peace” as an universal cultural and civilizational concept

Аrticle deals with the different interpretations of the Phenomenon Peace and the concepts of peace. Based on the work of the founder of the Norwegian school of peace research Johan Vincent Galtung, the author examines new conceptual approaches to understanding the World, focusing on the structural filling of the Peace with new meanings: the values of the peace and the Peace of life, non-violence and economic well-being, physical health, creative excellence, the human development index, etc. Peace in the “peace research”. Authors are pointing out the differences associated with linguistic and linguistic-cultural, as well as semantic interpretations of the phenomenon The issues related to the image of the world, the formation of a national image of the peace in which each nation idealizes its own Peace, extolling its traditional values and assigning itself a Messianic role in the history of world civilization and culture are touched upon. The author considers the meanings of the “Russian world”, approaches to Russia as a state - civilization, trans-state and transcontinental community. It is noted that the cultural and civilizational peace offers its own response to the challenges of time, aimed at the formation and/ or reflection of its axis or vector of movement of the centers of world culture, explaining the formation of sources of geopolitical and geocultural activity in history and modernity. The interpretation of the peace as a balanced system of meanings of life, intently inherent in a particular society in a certain historical period, is proposed.
