The article deals with the development of creative skills of future engineers. The author presents the methodology of innovative practice-oriented educational technologies in the development of the structural and procedural model of general creative skills formation on the basis of the interdisciplinary didactic resource of engineering and design disciplines. The results of experimental work on the implementation and justification of the effectiveness of the process are discussed. The specificity of the non-standard visual-spatial thinking development as an invariant of engineering thinking is scientifically proved and the bases of general creative skills development as key competencies of design and research activities are described.
