The author presents a model for the development of the professional potential of a rural teacher in Mongolia as a result of many years of research and result of identified socio-pedagogical conditions for the development of this personality quality. The author considers various approaches to the definition of the concept “professional potential of a teacher” and, based on an analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, gives his own interpretation of this concept. The main methodological approaches and principles of building the model are named, its structural components, as well as socio-pedagogical conditions for the implementation of the model for the development of the professional potential of the rural teacher are highlighted. As an example, the author describes the implementation of the innovative on-the-job training form for Mongolian schools and proves the effectiveness of its use in the educational process in the rural school of Mongolia.
