We consider a composite material based on silicon carbide reinforced with carbon nanotubes. Effective thermoelastic characteristics of the composite are calculated on the assumption that the nanotubes are concentrated at the boundaries of grains. Applied gradient theory of elasticity and thermal conductivity are used for calculations. It is given an example of calculation of the element of construction, which indicates the possible prospects of the use of such ceramic materials.
