The main criterion for increasing the productivity of the livestock industry at the present stage is the reduction in the cost of preparing animal feed. The feed preparation process consists of several technological steps. One of them is crushing fodder grain. The need for crushing is dictated by the fact that whole grain is not assimilated by animals. The article discusses the modernization of the crusher DB-5. In the existing machine, the static state of the sieve does not ensure the completeness of the separation of the product-air flow. The sieve is often clogged, which does not allow for the desired grinding quality, and also negatively affects the performance of the crusher and the quality of grinding. Taking into account these disadvantages, the performance of the crusher decreases, which significantly affects the performance of the entire line. The proposed modernized crusher, in comparison with the existing one, has a design that allows increasing the productivity of the machine, ensuring the stability and efficiency of the grinding process by ensuring the completeness of the separation of the product-air flow in the separation chamber.
