Modernisation paradigm in the study of the genesis of scientific and technical sphere of society

The article attempts to explain the historical process using a modernisation paradigm. The theory of industrial revolutions is described in connection with the driving forces of social and economic evolution. There are identified three points of bifurcation in the course of industrialization. Changes of the scientific and technical level of social production in each of the points are highlighted. The proliferation of new technologies and their adaptation to various parameters of the historical process in between points of bifurcation is described. This article provides a formula of modernisation as a function of technical equipment, information and investment policy with description of influence of all the three factors on the process of industrialisation. There are given examples of application of this model to the development of technical and technological environment of humanity from Antiquity to Modern times.
