The article presents the results of a comparative study of milk yield, milk quality and reproductive capacity of purebred Simmental cows of domestic (Floriana line, Tsybok bull) and German (Redad line, Imrich bull) breedings at the breeding farm of the Abodimovskiy agricultural production cooperative in the Saratov Region. The study has involved 40 cows (20 animals in each control and experimental group) with subsequent productivity assessment in the first, second, third and last lactations. It has been found that animals of the German breeding significantly outperform their peers of domestic origin in milk yield by 5.2-11.8% (P≥0.95-0.999), the amount of milk fat and protein for all lactations assessed, and are also characterized by higher milk yield coefficients (by 0.09-0.69 units). At the same time, the reproductive qualities of the animals in both groups have been within the physiological range.
