Monitoring the quality of the urban environment

The article analyzes the features of the methodology for assessing the quality of the urban environment. The analysis of regulatory documents regulating the procedure for forming the urban environment index made it possible to formulate requirements for monitoring. Among these requirements, the following are highlighted: ensuring free access to information on monitoring results, the comprehensive nature of the indicators and the objectivity of the results obtained. The study allowed us to formulate the conclusion that assessing the quality of the urban environment is a prerequisite for the development of tools for managing urban space, as well as for determining the effectiveness and making appropriate adjustments to their composition.
