There are considerated the monitoring technology: there are described monitoring’s qualities, functions and definition. There are described monitoring’s role in context of training 51.03.06 Library and information activities and standard “Specialist in library and information activities”. There are underline the special role above professional competence and soft skills in professional training for deciding difficult professional problems. There are determined monitoring’s role in the realization professional competence of information environment. Analysis showed that monitoring is enriched the librarian’s investigation tools. There are base one’s arguments to including monitoring in professional educational program for master’s degree.
