Morphosyntaxic means of actualization of comparative semantics in the Tuvan language (a comparative aspect)

Бесплатный доступ

The article presents the results of a comparative study of systematized morpho- syntactic ways of expressing comparison in the Tuvan, Altai and Khakass languages. We have considered the similarities and differences between the morphosyntactic systems of the Tuvan and two other Turkic languages under study. It has been established that the Turkic languages have a variety of means for expressing comparison: from lexemes, comparative phrases to bi-predicative constructions. The results of the study show that dependent predicative units with the comparative semantics have a similar meaning and manner of production in the studied languages. The difference is manifested in the number of comparatives, the way of expressing undertones of comparison and the scope of use. Comparative indicators that connect elements of varying degrees of complexity play an important role in structuring the field of comparativeness in the Turkic languages of Southern Siberia.
