The motive of childish suffering in the stories “The boy at Christ’s Christmas tree” and “A boy with a pen” by F. Dostoevskiy is considered. In the Belarusian literature the theme of suffering childhood is analyzed on the basis of the stories of Z. Byaduli and Aloisa Pashkevich (Tsetka). There is defined the general motive of works, there is emphasized the author-individual specific features of reflecting the theme of deprived childhood in the flash fiction by F. Dostoevskiy and the Belarusian writers of the beginning of the XXth century.
