Motives for joining drug enforcement units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation

Motives for joining Drug Enforcement Units are under consideration. The authors find out that the main motives are of altruist character, that is to serve for benefit of the society, and for 40% this is added by the wish of social recognition, including that from the relatives’ part, opportunities for self-development due to the service. It is noted that 37% of candidates have been preparing for law enforcement service since their childhood, family, relatives’ or environment example playing an important part.
