Musical and theoretical education in the Conservatoire de Paris

This study compares two outstanding systems of musical and theoretical education - Russian and French based on the method of comparative analysis. The systems stand out among others by a high degree of organization, ramification, the reliance on which has led to the achievement of significant results in the education of musicians. Comparison of the experience accumulated by Russian and French music eduction contributes to the identification of problems existing in Russian education and the search for ways and methods to eliminate them. At the same time, this approach makes it possible to more clearly assess the merits of the Russian system, its role and place in the world's educational space. This study identifies methods and directions of training that are acceptable for Russian education, introduced at the Conservatoire de Paris in various disciplines: solfeggio, harmony, polyphony, analysis and other subjects.
