National themes are the objects of research that never become outdated and never cease to be topical. They cover many topics related to the issues of creation, life, and death of ethnic groups; the issues of forming the hierarchy of family-clan-tribe- ethnicity-nation; the issues of a person’s place in an ethnic group and an ethnic group in a person; the issues of communication between an ethnic group and God. One of the most famous founders of the Orthodox view on issues of national themes is Saint Nicholas of Serbia (Velimirovich). His works cover many national themes, which is reflected in studies about the saint written in Russian. This review aims to systematize the national themes of the saint based on secondary analytical texts. The article analyzes all literature in Russian that touches upon national themes in the saint’s works: academic (e-library), books and prefaces to them, and journalism. The chronological framework of the study is limited to the period 2003–2024 — from the moment of the general church canonization of the saint to the present day (as an exception, a source from 1958 is given). As a result of the review, interpretations of the saint’s ideas on the main national themes are shown, including explanations and clarifications of such ideas; the works of 22 authors in terms of the national themes of the saint are considered.
