The article deals with the national and cultural specific character of the Austrian dialect phraseological units. There is presented the structural and typological classification of the Austrian phraseological units as the results of the research. There is defined the ethnocultural potential of the dialect phraseological units as the most important identifying markers of the Austrian ethnos.
