The article deals with the analysis of the visual modelling as a basic means of the productive intellectual preschool children activities. There are given the scientific and empiric evidence that in the process of teaching mathematics the formation of the external visual models is organized as a system activity developing the intellectual operations. There is substantiated the role of the visual modelling in the development of the basis of the elementary programming of senior preschool children.
